I would like to know the meaning of this idioms:
'It boosted my spirit' It raised my spirits
'My spirit sank' = my heart sank = I felt as though I was depressed by something
'My spirit rose' = the reverse to the above = I am made happy by something.
'I'm depressed' = exactly what it says. Everything is more than I can possibly bear and I can't face it.
'I feel into depression' = I fell into depression = I became depressed.
'That always give me a lift' = that always makes me feel better
'He's really hit bottom this time' = he's gone down as far as he can go [either psychologically or economically]
