[Grammar] "If" in place of "in case"

"I am so scared in case I fall off my chair."

I heard the sentence in a song and I heard that we can replace "if" with "in case".

Do you agree with this or is there a nuance between them? Thank you so muchas usual.

'If' is not possible in that sentence - unless you regularly fall off your chair and that activity scares you every time it happens.

'In case' is very unlikely with 'scared'. Those who have a fear of falling off chairs might say, "I am scared that I'll fall off my chair".
