It doesn't sound correct. Could you explain what it means?

Supposing we are going to throw a little party today and we're discussing which things each of us will bring to the party. I say that I am going to the shop to buy the drinks. Ted says he wants to buy the drinks. Everybody agrees that it would be better if Ted buys the drinks (for whatever reason). And I say: "OK, if Ted will buy the drinks (or If Ted is buying the drinks), then I am not going to the shop." Is such a situation possibe?

Okay. Then don't use will buy. Use is buying.

If Ted's buying the drinks, I'm not going to the shop.

"If Ted is buying the drinks, then I don't need/have to go to the shops." This makes sense.
The way you have phrased it, englishhobby, gives the impression that, if Ted buys the drinks, you're going to make a petulant protest by not going to the shops.
The same would apply to most sentences of the form, "If Ted does X, then I'm not going to do Y."

Perhaps:

If Ted's buying the drinks tell him to get some Mexican beer.
