can u tell me what is the difference between these two examples:

She had known joe.
She has known joe.

Can you tell me what is the difference between these two examples:

She had known joe.
She has known joe.

Both are unlikely, but the first one is past tense. (She doesn't know Joe anymore.) The second one would most likely be part of a longer sentence such as:

She has known Joe for ten years.

In other words, she knows Joe now, and that relationship is ten years old.
