Hi, guys...

I am wondering how "in doing so" and "in so doing" are used differently...

Do English speakers use both expressions differently?

If so, what's the difference between them how do you use them?

Can you give me example sentences for each?

Thank YOu....:-D

I really had to think about this, and I can't see any difference. I would use "doing so" most of the time.

He insulted his boss, and in doing so, he poisoned the relationship.

He got into the car when he was drunk, and in so doing, he changed the course of his life.

The Americans invaded Iraq, and in doing so they were guilty of a horrendous blunder.

You can be comfortable with either "doing so" or "so doing."
