In BrE, I think they're all okay, in the right place. I assume it's the same in AmE.

1) is likely with one employee to another employee talking about their place of work.
2) I don't like too much because...
3) is better.

1 and 3 are fine for me in BrE. I don't like 2 at all.

I'm not used to hearing "reception" as the name of a location in American English. It may be used in some contexts, though.

Yes. A receptionist's desk is typically found in a lobby or a waiting room.
