Does this "in turn" mean "one after another" or "as a result"? I think the latter, but the translation goes the former.

rp81)Things that are made of such materials as wood and felt are extremely sensitive to the environment in which they are kept. A piano is no exception. For instance, fluctuations in temperature or the level of humidity results in physical changes to the piano's wood and felt. In turn, this influences the performance of the instrument. To avoid any damage, you should always keep it located in a place from open windows...

You are right: 'as a result'.
