I want to write a blog about the vulnerability of paperback books. Such fold-like damage is common.

I would say that it's a "crease" resulting from repeated foldind.

I would say that it's a "crease" resulting from repeated foldinG.
:up: A 'fold' is quite like a 'crease', except that a fold is often intentional and a crease is usually an accident or mistake! (I can think of one particular use of 'crease' where the mark is intentional; a formally dressed gentleman usually (in the UK) has a crease in his trousers.)
