Hmm,
I suppose in some instances, these two phrases can be interchanged:
How about you? What do you think?
What about you? What do you think?
But in others, interchanging these phrases is awkward:
How about you give me a hand? (sounds OK)
What about you give me hand? (sounds awkward)
How about the other teachers on the forum? What's your take?
