When you say today's date as follows, which considered to be correct?

It's the ten. or It's tenth.
Today is the tenth. or Today is tenth.

"the" is very necessary in dates, it is not an optional word.

however, when stating times, "the" is left out.

The tenth! "Tenth", "first" etc. are ordinal numbers therefore you must use "the". Even if you see on the page in a reading text "I traveled to Tokyo on 10th June last year", you must "speak", "I traveled to Tokyo on the tenth of June last year".
