Jessica wanted a divorce but, considering the negative impact it would have on her children, she decided not to.

Is the above sentence correctly punctuated? Thanks.

As an NES but not a teacher, I would have no problem, personally, with the punctuation as is, but would probably have rephrased the ending as "she decided against it".

If you wish to keep the ending as "she decided not to", change the beginning to "Jessica wanted to divorce her husband ..." or "Jessica wanted to get divorced ...".
