The transaction code used for customer transactions.

Now, there is an argument on whether the sentence requires a full stop or not. Please help.

It's not a sentence. "This is the code used for customer transactions." This is a sentence.

All sentences require a full stop, unless they end in another punctuation mark, such a question mark or exclamation mark .
(As you've been told, this isn't a sentence.)

If this is a column heading (as you might be implying), then no it doesn't need a period.
