The speaker appears to be asking about a ride, but the answer refers to walking. That may cause some small confusion, but in context the listener probably understood perfectly.

hi,

actually the speaker asked "what did you do?".

"ride" implies always a transportation mean, right?

a stroll by a transportation mean is a "ride" and a stroll by feet is a "walk", right?

thanks,
jc

Interesting way of interpreting a ride in a vehicle! I never thought of it as a stroll by transportation.

If you are referring to a ride in a car, then the reply would normally be "Oh, we drove around looking at things and I took some pictures".

Hi,

Thanks.

Tontojones posted a reply (please see it above). According to his answer, I assumed that a "ride" happens only when you have a transportation mean. If you are "by feet", you would have a "walk" and not a "ride".

If this is not the case, I don't understand what Tontojones meant.

According to your reply, it seems that a ride can be taken by feet.

I wonder what Tontojones meant.

Thanks again,
Jc

Hi,

According to your reply, it seems that a ride can be taken by feet. ?????? - not how I read my answer. I ignored the sidetrack about strolling on foot and concentrated on travelling around in a vehicle.
