We don’t need no education

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Don't rely on song lyrics for examples of grammatical English. Lyrics are written to fit the rhyme and rhythm of the song and some songwriters don't take any notice of (or don't know about) grammar.

"We don't need no education" is one of the more famous examples of a well-known lyric that is completely ungrammatical. "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" is another.

Grammatically, they should be "We don't need education", "We don't need any education" or "We need no education", and "I can't get [any] satisfaction".

The lyric is "Daddy's flown across the ocean", which is grammatical.

"We don't need no education!" is not standard grammar.

However, the whole point of the lyric is that the kids chanting it do in fact (in the eyes of the schoolmasters they are protesting against) need to be educated, on the use of 'correct' grammar, for example.
