Is this sentence acceptable?

"Did you see him himself?" is the sentence in question.
Could any native speaker of English help out?
If it is an acceptable sentence, is it similar to "Did you see him in person?" in its meaning then?

I think what you want to know is if "you" and "him" actually met.
In that case I would probably say "Did you see him yourself?" or "Did you actually see him?"
Been speaking American English for over seventy years.

I got the sentence from an English test, and we couldn't decide whether it's ok to say so. Nevertheless, I saw another one just now.

"I met A-mei herself today."

Again, is this sentence acceptable, or should I just say, "I met A-mei myself today?" Thanks!
