is this sentence ok? should I use another verb? which one is more appropriate?

I'm not a professional teacher, but I would suggest that "uncovered" would be a more natural choice for that sentence. "Unveil" seems to be confined to formal, literal use these days, as with statues and commemorative plaques or to the formal presentation of celebrity personages, as in "Arsenal unveiled their new signing at a press conference this morning."
