Greetings All,

Throughout history, human society has suffered from terrorism, violence, and extremism. This suffering has increased in this day and age, causing physical and moral damage to many communities and culminating in an international phenomenon which preoccupies the mind and causes concern to everyone seeking peace, security and stability.

Islam, undoubtedly, has a clear stand on terrorism, violence, and extremism and on their causes as it abhors such phenomena and combats them, calling for cooperation with others to protect mankind from their dangers and consequences. Given its complex nature, terrorism requires scientific investigation which addresses its roots, causes, consequences and the ways to combat it.

In order to clarify the position of Islam on these phenomena and to expound its moderations, goodness and call for dialogue, the idea arose to hold a conference entitled ‘The Stand of Islam on Terrorism, Violence, and Extremism’ at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University.

Islam is a religion of mercy.Islam is accused of terrorism.
Who is realy make trrorism is Israil. They kill a lot of people everyday and the world just watching as they sit in the Cinama.
Everyday alot of casulties. Alot ofviolence against defenceless people and no country has said anything.
Now :Who is the trrorist?
How many people have killed in Palestine?
And What do you call that?
Muslim blood has become cheep.
If these things happened in U.S.A .What is the reaction?
The big problem that we close our eyes and pretend that we can see!!!

No one accept oppression.
Islam is called The Sleeping Gaint.
Muslims don't afraid of death because they like to be martyrs. They aspire for Shahda.

When Iraq was accused of weapons. Many countries stood in his face.
But when The Jews kill many Muslims and destroy hoses in Palestine. The Same countries did'nt say a single word.

Many don't see Islam as a source of terrorism. The views of a fringe few can be found anywhere, imo.

Say:
  • Muslims are not afraid of death, because they like to be martyrs.

You're welcome. My interpretation was not the best one, however. That is because a martyr is not something you can be in the normal sense of the word. Perhaps:
  • They are not afraid of death, because they look forward to martyrdom.
Or:
  • They are not afraid of death, because they welcome the prospect of martyrdom.

They do, and Islam does. Sadly, things can get messed up.

Hi
After 9/11 a person working on the t.v made a report to see what is Islam; he was a Jewish. He made a report with a French lady who made an assosiation in France about Islam. She said that Islam is the best religion to have a peacfull and perfect society. Actually, I was amazed with her opinion.

Yes I was surprised, because the woman was French. We could not hear people saying good things about Islam.
Yes, the man was Jewish. :)

If you will leave me, there are some corrections.
Say:
Islam "with a capital I" is a religion of peace and mercy and does not encourage us to kill ....

I wish if a teacher can check it whom will be for sure better than me.

You are right. We capitalize the names of religions, and it should be Islam does not.

(Say: "I wish a teacher would check it. I am sure one of them would do better than me.")

History is replete with acts done in the name of religion, many of which acts contradicted the basic tenants of the religion for which they were done. For one example, the Christian crusades.

Another example is the Christian insurrection in China.

It does appear to me that this thread is more about religion than English and I feel a nose bleed coming on.

It can not be seriously disputed that Islam is currently being used as the primary excuse for freedom fighters to rally against the governments of primarily Christian countries.

Now I have gone and done it. Mixed politics and religion in one thread, both or either of which violates the forum rules I agreed to abide by.

I pray the moderators religion is based upon a doctrine of forgiveness, particularly since I am new here and am a first time offender just like Martha Stewart. After all, many good people have been first time offenders.
