English has become the base language for international business, for the worlds airlines and even for the Internet. Whatever language people speak, they need to know some English if they work in these fields. It is clear that the English language is becoming more important.
(Projct English, Wang Dechun)

I think the last sentence should be it is clear that the English language is becoming more and more important.

What do you say?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Always cite the source of any text you quote and name the author (if known), please.

I suppose your amendment is a slight improvement.

Thanks, Rover.
I think you mean the original sentence is all right. Am I right?
Thanks again.

It's OK. There is an implied "than it was" at the end.

You could also use something like even more important. I reckon it comes down to how important you see English as, which is open to discussion, while there is no discussion to be had over whether it is important or not.
