I don't know if 'in' or 'of' is correct:
I know 'in' is used for places and 'of' is used for period of time. However, I am not sure about it.

"It is one of the most best-selling books of 2008 year."

"It is one of the most best-selling books in 2008 year."

Use the first sentence but leave out year.

Even though the fact that it was one of the best-selling books of 2008 has not changed, I would start that sentence with "It was ...".

I would certainly drop the 'most'.

It was one of the best-selling books of 2008.

I'd drop "most" too. I missed that.

I'd also drop the hyphen.

You have "best" already so you don't need "most". Hyphen or not I don't think it matters that much in this case. I think I have seen both.
