Hi everyone, 'is' or 'was': Which one should I use in the context?

I visited New Delhi five days ago. It was such a nice place. it (is/was) the best place I have ever been to.

Note: I haven't visited a better place since that visit.

Note:- I perhaps visited a better place after that visit

It would be more natural if this happened five months or years ago but it's okay.

Don't write ":-". Just use a colon.

In answer to the original question, I think it would be OK to say:

I visited New Delhi five years ago. It was the best place I have ever been to.

The past perfect in the second version sounds weird to me unless you have since been somewhere nicer.
