Hi. I've asked you this question recently but I'd like to do it one more time in order to be fully convinced.

- I've damaged his phone.
- Why have you done it?
- I've done it, because he broke my finger on purpose.

Could you glance at this example and correct the mistakes?

Re: The past (the present perfect and the past simple)

Replace the present perfect with the simple past in every case.

Alright, thanks, but what do you think of this example? Also I want to show the result of my action.

Re: The past (the present perfect and the past simple)

Thanks. I know that in AmE you can use the past simple instead of the present perfect, even if there's a result in the present, but I'm learning British English, so I would like to know whether it can work out there.

In BrE, I would expect the exchange to go something like this:

- I've broken his phone/I broke his phone.
- Why did you do that? (Or just "Why?")
- I did it because he broke my finger!

That works in American English too. It wouldn't be likely in writing, but if the speaker were talking to someone who saw the action and the the action had just occurred, the present perfect would be appropriate in the first sentence, which would probably be an exclamation ending in an exclamation point.
