I'm trying to find out an Enghish word that corresponds to Portuguese 'turismologo", i.e., someone who has a college degree in Tourism and works in this area. I'm thinking if a "tourist manager" would be a good option... Could you explain what exactly a tourist manager does?

At least one of our staff can speak fluent Portuguese, so I'll point them in this direction. ;-)

I speak some Poruguese, but I have not heard of that word. I'm not sure if there is an English equivalent. I would call a "turismologo" a "tourism professional" in English.

I can't find that word in an online dictionary, nor in my paper dictionary. I would go with "tourism professional" as a translation.

A related idea would be "hospitality industry" or "hospitality and service industry" - meaning - hotels, restaurants, tranportation/transport, etc. Anything related to travelling for pleasure or going on some type of vacation. Though, "hospitality and service" would not just be in reference to tourism. They are very general terms.
