Does this mean "he jumped on a convertible or a truck without any cover?" Why isn't it "jumped into"?
What's the difference between "jump on" and "jump into"?

gz154)The bank robber ran across the street and jumped on a car.

As it stands, it means that he jumped onto the roof or bonnet/hood of a car.
