I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct. Is it correct to say "for having to put her up over..."?

Kate forced a smile at her mother-in-law, but she seethed with rage for having to put her up over the weekend.

To amuse/confuse your reader/listener, you could say that Kate was about to spend the weekend putting up with putting her mother-in-law up. ;-)
