Is,it correct to say "Today, i came to office by 2nd shift." in a situation when a collegue asks me a 'Q' "When did u come to office today ?"

Is it right to say like this in present tense
"I will come to the office for 2nd shift."

Yes,my collegue knows what the 2nd shift means.

Would the colleague understand what the second shift is? If you worked the second shift, I would use something like I came to the office for the second shift.
