Can one say
a. I know a good musician when I see one and I can tell you Terry isn't one.
b. I know good musicians when I see them and I can tell you Terry isn't one.
c. I know a good musician and I can tell you Terry isn't one.
d. I know good musicians and I can tell you Terry isn't one.
e. I know a good car and this isn't one.
f. I know good cars and this isn't one.
?
The first four are supposed to mean the same thing: I can tell when someone is a good musician and he isn't one.
