What is the meaning of (sour, "kosher-style" pickles)?

I learned thar "kosher-style" has to do with jewish style in not containg pigs meat or milk, etc

I can't get how PICKLE can be "kosher-style"!

Can you please give me any suggestions?

Thanks

There are many more criteria involved in certifying a food to be kosher. See this link:

Judaism 101: Kashrut: Jewish Dietary Laws

However, I must admit I don't understand how something can be "kosher-style". Surely it's either kosher or it's not.

Please note, I am not Jewish. I'm sure someone else on the forum will be able to give you a full explanation.

Kosher style usually refers to food that is not kosher but could be produced as Kosher and usually it isn't Kosher according to traditional Halachic standards.
Yes, you are right, food from forbidden animals such as pig, shellfish and others, and a mix of meat and milk can't be used for Kosher food.
"Kosher-style" expression is now used, in my opinion, to promote Old World
tastes. I'm not an expert nor Jew, but you are close by to them.

I believe that one of the points made in the link I directed you to, was that fruit and vegetables have to be carefully inspected to ensure that there are no bugs or insects, as those are not allowed to be eaten in a kosher diet either. Perhaps that's what they meant.
