I need some help related to language usage
1)What is / are the suitable adverb(s) ( really/in fact/ actually) in the sentence below ? According to the instructions of the exercise, there are many possible answers, but I am getting lost. Is it possible to have an explanation about the choice of the adverb (s)?
2) What is the correct word (When or On?? ) or are both of them correct ?? thank you

Unfortunately, I could only afford language classes twice a week and consequently I had to rely on my own resources to acquire as much english as possible.Really / In fact/ Actually, to my surprise I managed to pass Cambridge First Certificate after only two years. Subsequently, I took the Profiency Exam just before leaving four years ago.On / When returning home, I was lucky enough to find ajob teaching English at the Acadamy School.

In the first sentence it's actually, which expresses surprise.

When needs a different structure: When I returned home....

cheers
