Hi!

This is from an HR manual guide which says:

The number of leave days must not be more than the total number of days the salary is paid.

Does it mean you cannot enter more leave days than the number of days in a month?

Thank you

It doesn't make sense to me.

It seems to mean that if you are paid to work 25 days a month you can't have 26 days leave in the month. :-?

I was thinking maybe you cannot enter a leave day exceeding the number of days in a month.
For example for August, I am paid to work 31 days, I cannot enter that I am on leave for 32.

That's the only explanation I can think of. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When I read it, I actually thought it doesn't make any sense.

I'm just trying to find different opinions on the matter.

Can't it mean the number of leave days cannot exceed the number of days in a month?

It's a very unclear sentence but it seems that the leave is unpaid.

Therefore it appears to be saying that you can't have a greater number of days off than you had days at work.

Number of days in a month = total number of days is salary is paid

not possible??

Maybe it's saying that you can't take more days off (in some unspecified period of time) than you work. I can't take 3 weeks off in a month and only work 1 week, for example.

Policy is we are allowed to take 1 month of leave in a year that is why I am asking if it is possible for it to mean that the total number of days salary is paid is equal to a month. Thanks

It doesn't mention the period so the answer is unclear.

If it is the company you work with, why don't you just directly ask HR? They will provide a much more concrete answer.
