Can we use 'less so' or 'more so' instead of repeating 'nouns' as well as 'adjectives' and 'adverbs'? Now, are these following correct?

He used to be really serious, but he is less so.

They used to be strict parents. However, they are less so.

That allergy used to be much of a problem for her. However, it is less so.

That allergy used to be a problem for her. However, it is less so.

It doesn't work in those sentences. You could add now to all of them to make them work.

You aren't quoting the words nouns, adjectives and adverbs above. Don't surround them with quotation marks.
