Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?

Don’t let him pull you in – but – if the son-of-bitch socks you – let him have it.

He drew back his fist and let the man have it.

Give him a kick in the pants; let him have it!

let one have it = to hit hard
