A server is a computer that hosts websites.

To say that a program lets our server crash sounds like this is normal and acceptable. It would be like saying the drain plug, when pulled up, lets the water drain out of the tub.

Servers are not supposed to crash. So it would be more likely that the program would...

...cause the server to crash
...result in the server crashing
...bring on a server crash
...induce the server to crash
...induce a server crash.
