Dear Anglika, grateful if you could give me some suggestions, such as style, structure or whatsover, on the following letter. Thank you for helping.
Helping Others is the Spring of Happiness
Have you ever found that something in your home you bought long ago has been left intact or outdated? Dump it? It would be a waste. Keep it? What a white elephant! So, why not donate it for a meaningful cause so that it can serve its purpose in the hands of a new master. More importantly, you can contribute to protecting the environment by saving natural resources on the one hand, and helping the more vulnerable group in society on the other. To achieve this, ABC Treasure Trove must be your ideal option.
ABC Treasure Trove is a charity shop being run by ABC Rehabilitation Services, a non-profit making organization. Its mission is aimed at providing the underprivileged of society an opportunity to fend for themselves by receiving vocational training on retailing skills through the resale of recycled items. Beneficiaries include unemployed teenagers, the disabled, new arrivals from Mainland China, single mothers and ex-mentally ill persons. In the process, the vulnerable trainees will learn the concept of environmental protection and take positive initiatives to achieve the goal while reselling recycled materials. By doing so, it not only allows the trainees to earn the reward of their effort and the shop to finance its operation funds, but also helps to promote the public’s awareness on environmental conservation and resource recovery.
As a Chinese proverb has it, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Each item you give will turn the life of an employee working in the Treasure Trove a difference. We sincerely hope that your generosity and care can make the needy feel warmer and more comfortable in this cold winter by donating the items as listed.
Thank you and with grateful appreciation,
Chairman, ABC Association
