Dear teachers,

I know, attributes usually precede the nouns they modify.

Sometimes, however, they are placed after the noun they modify, and acquire predicative force.

Would you tell me whether the following sentences are properly written?

The letter received yesterday was most welcome = the letter which was received…

There were many other people uninterested in the sermon.

Perfectly acceptable. They are elisions.

Hi Anglika,

I have been studing English for years but I haven't learned it yet. I had good hopes that I manage to picking up English languge in no time but now gave up all hope. There is looming in the sight unexpectedly something new and unknown. It's good that there is the present forum. It is most likely that with your help I will cope successfully with this task which is apparently beyond my unpresuming abilities.
