Letter writing

I need a clarification: Whenever we are writing letters - After the salutation (for ex. Dear XYZ, ) when we write the first line...should the first word be starting with the small or capital alphabet??

For ex:
Option 1:---

Dear Raj,
it gives me immense pleasure.......

option 2:----

Dear Raj,
It gives me immense pleasure .....


which is the correct option

Option 2. The first sentence should begin with a capital letter.
