1) Flying objects, like jets, were moving across the sky.


Does it mean:
a) Flying objects, which were like jets, were moving across the sky.
or:
b) Flying objects, such as jets, were moving across the sky.
or:
c) Flying objects were moving across the sky like jets.

First, the sentence is correct. Second, without the commas I choose a. With them (as in your sentence), I choose b.
