Do my three sentences mean the same thing?
I'm anything but sure if I can use the word "provide" in sentence three.

1. I like to ensure that this won't happen again.
2. I like to make certain that this will not happen again.
3. I like to provide that this will not happen again.

No, 'provide' doesn't work. Your sentences would be better with 'I want' or 'I would like (I'd)' instead of 'like'
