Dear teachers,
Please read the following dialogue:
_ The hours are too long, I am looking for a new job.
_ You haven't quit?
_ Not yet. I want to line up another job first.

What does line up mean here? "get"? "get in advance"?

Please help.

'line up' means "to have sb/sth committed to doing sth". It doesn't necessarily have to entail a 100% commitment but the likelihood is pretty strong.

A: Who's going to help you move?

B: Oh, I've got a few friends lined up to help.
