There are hundreds of versions- the Arthurian stories were a major feature of English, French and German writing for hundreds of years.

The most famous version in English is Thomas Malory's 'Morte d'Arthur'. Other versions I loved were TH White's The Once and Future King, Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and Marion Bradley's Mists of Avalon. ;-)

If you want a standard version which is written in a modern style, try the Marion Bradley one- it's a very good read. Malory is hard work because the language is old. .;-)
