I think it would be better like this:

Anna's and her mother's personality exchanged bodies with each other after they ate some fortune cookies. As a result, Anna and her mother lived each other's life for one day.

I don't know how their personality exchanged bodies. It is fortune cookies which make them exchange their bodies. How can I make this meaning in a sentence?
