Bobby saw that the guy getting out of the back indeed very old. He looked a hundred if he looked a day.

What do you think the last sentence mean? Thanks in advance!

It just means he looked very old. Since he clearly looked like he was at least a day old, he looked as old as 100.

It's a reasonably common expression.
"She told you she is 36? What a liar. That woman is 45 if she's a day. We graduated from high school together."

Thanks for your super fast reply! I'm totally new to this expression and I don't get the logic. Can you elaborate this a bit more?

Hmm.

What if you thought of it this way: If you can have confidence that she is at least one day old [which you obviously can!], you can have an equal amount of confidence that she is at least X years old.

So if you believe that she is at least one day old, you must believe that she is X years old.
