can u please tell me what lump means in this context.

i dont think it is....To put together in a single group without discrimination

If we have enough - if we are up to speed on our database, yeah. Sometimeswe don't get a big response, so we just lump it into another month. We tell them how to carefor their car and why they should come in with the frequency that is suggested. Then we takethem out to the service department and show them how to change a tire

Actually, the definition you posted is correct in this instance. It sounds like the company in question has a monthly quota to meet, and if they don't collect the required amount of responses in a given month, they'll take the few they did receive and add them to the previous month (or wait and add them to the next month) in order to inflate that total.

Yes, take the numbers from one month and move them all in one lump sum to the next month.
