I'd need to know the full context to be vertain but I think it means "died".
Thanks for your reply, jamiep.
At the beginning, I thought it means "died", but in the dictionary, I found pass away means to died, and the single word pass means to move past, so I'm not pretty sure which one is right, and then asked you this question.
This one from Prison Break 1, episode 1, Michael Scofiled talks to Charles Westmoreland( D.B.Cooper) first, and the scripts below is about the content of their conversation:
M - You're Charles Westmoreland, right?
C - Do I know you?
M - I knew your wife before she passed.
C - - You knew Marla?
M - You mean Anne?
C - How'd you know her?
M - We talked together in Boston.
C -East Farmington
M - - You mean West Wilmington?
C - No more tests. I promise. Seems you know everything about me.
Who are you?
M - Michael Scofield.
How'd you get it in here?
C - First off, she's not an it.
She's Marilyn and she's grandfathered
back from the days when prisoners were allowed a creature comfort or two.
M - I heard you were D.B. Cooper.
C - Every new fish comes in here , first thing they hear is that Charles Westmoreland is D.B. Cooper. I'll tell you like I tell them... You want the Cooper story? I can't give it to you, 'cause I'm not him.
M - It's too bad. Sort of wish it was true. The man's a legend.
C - Nowhere near as much as I wish it was true, friend.
I'd have a million- five waiting for me on the outside.
I'd put some grass under 'em if I were you.
