Hi Mary in georgian,
I don't know but there is an "emo" which used to describe a style of rock music then moved to a subgenre of hardcore punk music. Today it probably has a much wider meaning but still with a fringe meaning. People who class themselves under the heading of emo are not conservative as judged by the moderate classes.
