Hello every one, yesterday I red one article, one phrase really made me wondering, that is"What is needed in the case of noise is a study of large number of people living undernoisy conditions,to discover whether the are mentally ill more often than other people are" I don't know whether I can delete the red word to express the same meaning? Thank you.:)

Hi franklin xia

The sentence is awkward with or without 'are':

Ex: ...they are mentally ill more often than other people are.

:-D;-)
