Hello All:

Suppose there is a sentence "Yesterday he came across his friend
in the market, they had not known each other for ten years."

Can we replace the phrase "came across" by "met" or "met with"?
How to tell the differences between "meet" and "meet with"?

Thanks! 8)

I wouldn't use 'known' there; I'd say 'seen'. ;-)
