At one o’clock in the______ the water was getting colder.
A. midnight B. morning

1. "in the midnight" or "at midnight", which one is natural?
2. Can one o'clock be considered as "in the morning"?
I think morning should be the time when the sun rises till the noon.

Thanks for your help!

There is no "in the midnight." Midnight is one particular time. We will go home at midnight.

Every hour between 12 midnight and 12 noon is "in the morning."
