Hello,

I saw this tag on the bus, "Please move to the rear. Use rear door".
I am wondering if the second part is missing the definite article before the rear door.
If not, could you please explain why?

Thank you in advance,

Alex.

As an instruction to passengers it's fine. The first sentence is complete and polite. The second is saving space.

So 'Use the rear door' is correct? I also thought of preserving space, however there is more that enough room to fit 'the' on that particular tag.
By the way, do you call that tag or sign board?

It's a sign or a notice.
