Hello Everyone,

Since it has happened to me a couple of times that my replies proliferated liberally within a single thread (doubled in one case, quadrupled in the other), I somehow feel obligated to, first of all, apologise for my clumsiness in operating the posting page, as well as ask if anyone has ever experienced something similar.

I would like to assure the Members that the reason for the multiplied replies wasn't that I wanted to very quickly earn a larger and not deserved number of posts in this forum, nor was it a manner of emphasising my point. I just thought the only way to place a reply in a thread, apart from actually writing it, was to click on the SUBMIT button. Plainly, I was wrong. Only after it happened did I discover that by simply flipping the pages with the BACK / FORWARD Explorer buttons I inadvertently caused repeated entries to the thread being made. I am a member of four other forums (devoted to entiresly different areas of interest), and have never committed such an offence to any of the forums' good manners code.

I promise to do my best to prevent such undesirable side effects of my posting enthusiasm.

By the way, could someone please instruct me how I can delete the redundant posts of mine without doing any damage to the thread's inegrity?

With kindest regards to all, Tomasz.

You can delete individual posts here- I think they just disappear without trace so the thread will be unaffected.;-)

Sorry, I am still unsure how to do it. Only my last post in the thread has the DELETE button [x]. The EDIT option doesn't work on intermittent posts when I just delete the text I wrote, and it prompts me to enter a message before exiting.

If there's no delete key [X], then replace the contents of your post with a word or two that you deleted your post. If you don't want to do that, then you could always just simply add in an emoticon, like this,

Casiopea,

I have just followed your advice. After editing a reply the DELETE key reappears in the post's menu but it still won't let me delete my message completely stating that it's impossible to delete a message already answered. Anyway, I have succeeded in replacing the unnecessarily repeated text with a short message and the embarrassement emoticon saying more than words... T.K.
