1) My granny never let my mom off school without reason.

2) John stays off school for most days without any reason.


Are these sentences correct?

1) My granny never let my mom stay off school without good reason.

2) John stays off school [strike]for[/strike] most days without any reason.


Are these sentences correct?

With my corrections above, they're grammatically correct. In sentence 2, I would probably say "John stays off school most days for no reason". If he is not coming to school because he doesn't want to and his parents don't know he's staying at home he's "bunking off school" or "playing truant".
